LETTER FROM THE PRINCIPAL

October: A Season of Loyalty and Building a Legacy

There is something special about October at RES. The seasons are changing, the first nine weeks are coming to a close, and there is a feeling that things are really starting to click. Routines are becoming habits, relationships are growing stronger, and our school seems to be hitting its stride.
Our character trait for October is Loyalty, and I think it fits this time of year perfectly. Loyalty is about standing by others, being dependable, and continuing to show up—even when things aren't always easy. We see that every day at RES: students supporting their classmates, teachers encouraging their students, and our staff stepping up for one another whenever needed.
We are also officially underway with our Building a Legacy construction project! Over the next couple of years, our school will experience some exciting changes as we work to create an even better learning environment for our students and staff. Construction will bring some changes to our daily routines, spaces, and procedures, and there will certainly be moments when we have to be flexible and patient. But through all of the changes, our focus will remain the same: Learning, Loving, and Growing Together. We are not simply changing a building; we are creating something that will serve generations of Tigers to come.
As we close out the first nine weeks and look ahead to the rest of the year, I am grateful for the way our RES family continues to show up for one another. This year is already feeling like it is moving in the right direction, and I am excited about what is ahead. If October is any indication, we are going to have an incredible year of learning, growth, and legacy-building!
-Mr. McMurry

Music Notes from Mrs. Roach

Congratulations to our 15 students selected from Ringgold Singers to represent our school at the Catoosa Elementary Honor Choir. These students will stay after school for additional rehearsals on Wednesdays to learn advanced music. We will join all other Catoosa Elementary Schools Thursday, October 29 with their 15 students for a combined learning day at Heritage High School Theater. Jennifer Hamilton, choir teacher for HHS, will lead the clinic with the combined choir and students will return that evening to perform the concert. Everyone is invited to attend, so please mark your calendars now and prepare to hear some amazing music!
