I graduated from Ringgold High School in 2001.  I received my Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Georgia Northwestern Technical college in 2011.    I received my B.A degree in k-8 Interdisciplinary Studies from Western Governor's University in January of 2015.

This is my first year teaching at RES and I am so excited to be here.  I worked the past two years at Cloud Springs Elementary as the computer lab teacher.  I also completed my student teaching here at RES in 2014.

My name is April Shadwick.  I have been happily married to my husband Nathan since 2003.  My husband and I both grew up in Ringgold and enjoy raising our two children here.  Our son Luke is in fifth grade this year, here at RES and our daughter Daisy is a first grader at RPS.

We are a very close family who enjoy going to church, camping and spending as much time as possible together.  In my spare time, I enjoy drawing, painting, scrapbooking and reading.  I also love music!  More than anything, I love teaching.  I have wanted to be a teacher since I was 12.

I am excited to be teaching the STEAM class this year! My goal is to make the STEAM lab a fun and exciting place, where students can explore, create and develop new ideas and skills.
