Subjects Taught

I began my education here in Catoosa County.  I attended Cloud Springs Elementary, Lakeview Middle School, and Lakeview Fort-Oglethorpe High School.  After finishing high school, I attended Jacksonville State University in Alabama where I received a Bachelor's degree in elementary education.  I later attended UTC where I earned a Master's degree in education.

I am beginning my fifteenth year of teaching.  I have been at RES for all of my teaching career.  For the first six years, I taught third grade.  I spent one year teaching EIP and Horizon while I worked on receiving my certification in gifted education.  I then taught two years of Horizon classes.  For the 2013-2014 school year, I went back to teaching third grade.  For 2014-2015 and 2015-2016, I taught fifth grade reading and language.  In 2016-2017, I taught advanced content fifth grade ELA and Social Studies.  Last year, I taught fourth grade ELA.  This year, I will again be working with Horizon students and providing interventions during W.I.N. (What I Need) time.

My name is Shelley Gravley, and I am 36 years old.  I live here in Ringgold with my husband, Dewayne, our two little boys Noah and James, and my dog, Sam.  Teaching is a big part of my life, but I do enjoy other activities, especially reading.  Music and movies are other hobbies I enjoy.
